To begin, you will need
          a seed,

Next, water and a patch of earth
If you want your seed to give birth.

Check the time of year, the date.
Don’t plant too early.
            Don’t plant too late.

Find the perfect garden spot
That’s not too cold and not too hot.

Take a lesson from the mole
And dig a teeny, tiny hole.

Now it’s time to do the deed,
Sprinkle some water and plant
            your seed.

Watch, water, wait.
        Water, wait watch.
            Water, watch wait.
        Wait, water and watch.

A seedling will come poking through,
Like a little baby, it will count on you.

Protect your seedlings!
Pull out the weedlings!

It’s time to harvest what you’ve sown.
Enjoy the food that you have grown.
